Adult Wars And Children

This piece of work is telling me that these two boys separated from their families face each other eye to eye not knowing what’s going on around them facing real danger. These two kids behind barbed wires keeping them hostage are affecting their lives at risk.

A Poem shared by Tomo Roberts:

Adult War and Children die:

How did the world go so awry,

Where adults war, and children die.

We pick our sides, but in the sky,

The thunder cracks, the missiles fly

Politicians don’t try to mend,

They speak their words, enact revenge.

We’ve seen such things, again and again

More war, more death, more of us and them.

I can’t write this poem; I’m not that smart.

My safety bought by blood, in part.

And no words of mine will fix the start,

Or bring back life, or unbreak hearts.

So we wait and watch as babies cry

We pray this pain will pass us by

And wonder how, and wonder why,

While adults war, children die.
